umblesoh, desperation
you've not spared me from eating
rook pie; the boiled crow.
and what was once held high; now
intestines; mesentery;
now, desperation
you make me take these umbles
into me; myself.
so i can now crawl away;
full stomach; the cliff apart.

mucus-soaked face;
shivering and the sores;
i am covered in my own spit; my own vomit;
cold in their sputum; living their scorn.
yet i am holding out; because
you can ravage my body; gorge my eyes out;
my lungs exploding with tumors; these horrible
lesions on my arms; thighs; the runs that never
stop; feverish sleeps; and kaposi's sarcoma; turn
my defenses against myself; and make me
a monster to society.
but you are only a virus; i am human.
