will become the pawn of politicians;
are the cutlass of their diplomacy.

will become a servant of utility;
will find- no emancipation.

will become a pariah of peace;
will war in irenic irony.

will lose all reason of subversion;
are worn down by attrition.

will become, no more. because,

will have god in your hands/ (yet)
have no scripture by your side.

will have no will o’er your temple/
have no religion to bridle your finger.

will find your heart of darkness/ (while)
have to suffer the brickbats of your officers-

will have to live up to. or else,

give them power, to cause
excruciating pain.

give them un-reason, to maltreat
and your neighbours.

would have broken the oath
were forced to swear.

cannot help but finally realise:

are in the universe of another palm;
have no choice/ have no soul;

have only the camouflage of existence -

have become a soldier.
